About Our Organization
Awaken INC. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization who goal is to reduce the occurrence of domestic violence, child abuse and sexual assault against women and children. We are working to bring awareness to all forms of abuse committed against women and children. We are here to help improve the lives of the victims and survivors of domestic violence, child abuse and sexual assault, and help regain what was taken away.
We will supply the tools needed to renew their spirit, rebuild their confidence, and enhance their skills to transition from victim living to independent living. Here at Awaken, our programs and services are designed to promote self-sufficiency and personal empowerment. We are all about restoration for the spirit, mind and body.
Here at Awaken we believe that one voice can make a difference and save a life, just by letting your voice be heard and breaking the silence is the first step in eliminating abuse. Shackles are being broken, the victims have spoken and we have heard their cries. Here at Awaken we supply a doorway for the victims, to enter into a safe and secure place to become whole and to heal. In-order for the victims to become survivors, they must first see a doorway to walk through, and Awaken is that doorway.
Our Beginning
Our story and our beginning is one of faith. Our spiritual belief in the higher power of healing and restoration to the body, spirit and mind is where the healing begins. We believe that in order to walk and live in freedom, victims and survivors of domestic violence, child abuse and sexual assault, must first believe that God is a healer.

The founder of Awaken had a vision that someday she would be one of the voices for the many cries of the silent voices of abused women and children. Victoria founded Awaken in 2011 to help in the healing of the victims of domestic violence, child abuse and sexual assault, and to accomplish a new outlook on life for survivors. Awaken will help survivors gain a sense of self-worth, self-respect and a second chance. Most importantly, it will allow survivors to take back what the abuse and the abusers has taken from them, which was their voice and their life.
Awaken is an organization that believes that it’s time to give a voice to the fears and silence of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse. We believe that if we don’t take a stand to open the eyes of the victims, helping them to awaken from the hurt, pain and shame, they will continue to sleep in their past and continue to let the darkness rule them. By accomplishing the aforementioned, we know that we can make a difference in the lives in our community.
This is our beginning and our story; we are here to educate, empower, encourage and heal survivors. We are a faith-based organization committed to ending the effects of abuse against women and children regardless of race, creed, culture, economic status, sexual orientation or spiritual belief.
