After being abused as a child, or as an adult, without seeking any help or healing, we tend to look for love in all the wrong places. We find the wrong people to love and accept their abuse as love. We begin to think that real love is living with the abuse and our abusers, while accepting their definition of love. But we have to remember that when we give our love to a human, they will more than likely fail us, because after all, they are only human.
But I want you to know that there is only one perfect love and that love is Jesus. I want you to know that Jesus is Love and His Love endures to the end. So if you give up on life and love, you give up on Jesus. I want you to know that the Love of Jesus will bring you through any abuse and help you find your way back to the beauty that’s been made ugly in the abuse. Jesus Love will never fail you or never let you down.
You have a choice to make when it comes to your healing; your voice is the strongest weapon you have. Silence is the biggest killer of breaking your spirit and self-esteem down. This is a welcomed gift from you to your abusers, for the abuse to continue. Well, being silent is not an option anymore to protect and hide the abuse and your abuser.
Learn to love yourself; it’s not your fault, get angry with your abuser and everything you had to go through. Next is the hardest of all, forgiveness, which I know is the most difficult; but forgiveness is for you, not your abuser, so that you can move forward in your life and in your healing. Just know that Jesus forgives us daily.
I want you to know that there is life after the abuse, there is love after the abuse. I am a living witness to what can happen when you step out of the shadows of your abuse. When you choose your weapon of choice, which is your voice, there is a weight that will lift from your spirit that will give you back your life. There is happiness, joy and peace at the end of the tunnel. Don’t let anybody tell you there is no way out because Jesus said that; “I am the way, the truth, and the life”.
Remember that Jesus is Love,
Jesus Loves You,
And So Do I.
